Gifts for our tutoring program help men and women build a better life. Your financial investment supports their hard work to learn literacy skills that many of us take for granted: fill out a job application, improve employment skills, open a bank account, register to vote, use a computer, read to their children, or earn their GED.
Gifts to our family literacy program provide books and other literacy materials for pre-school age children living in poverty. Your gift trains parents to be the first and most effective teacher in their children’s life . . . to prepare them for success when they enter school. Family literacy breaks the cycle of poverty.

The impact of your investment:

• $50 Buys required training materials for one volunteer tutor.
• $100 Purchases literacy workbooks for one student and their tutor.
• $250 Provides books, materials, & parent training for one preschool child for two semesters.
• $500 Supports the cost for one new student and tutor pair for a full year.
• $1,000 Pays for tutor training instruction and materials for ten (10) volunteers.

Your gift of any amount goes a long way at the Adult Literacy League. Our staff is small... only 3 full-time and 9 part-time employees. We depend on your financial investments and over 400 trained volunteers for our students to reach their goals. Together, we can build a strong and literate community.
