Laura Fisher, Family Literacy Manager, joined the staff of the Adult Literacy League in June of 2014 bringing with her many years of not-for-profit experience from Chicago Children’s Museum and the Children’s Museum, Civic Theater, Frederick Meijer Gardens and Kids’ Food Basket in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Originally from Kansas City, Laura graduated in 1997 with a BFA in Theater and a minor in Education from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She has served on the Early Literacy Council for Kent County, Michigan and participated in Leadership Orange through Orange County Public Schools.

Laura lives in the Southchase area of Orlando with her husband and two children. She enjoys cooking, crafting and travelling with her family-they love a good adventure! In her role at the Adult Literacy League she appreciates the opportunity to talk to parents about the importance of reading to their children. She is grateful ALL can provide their students who are raising children the tools they need to have strong home libraries and prepare for school.
