Dawn Frye

Dawn is a technology professional with over 40 years’ experience in the utility and hospitality industries.  For the past seven years, she has worked for Orlando Utilities Commission and currently is the Manager, Meter Data Operations/Smart Grid Data.  Her responsibilities include leading the meter operations team while managing OUC’s first custom developed cloud application: Meter Data Platform. Dawn lives in Cape Canaveral and gets to be “on vacation” every day where she experiences space launches, sandy beachside walks and sunsets against the Banana River.

Recently, Dawn came across this quote: “’When life gives you something that makes you feel afraid, that’s when life gives you a chance to be brave.’ – Lupytha Hermin”  Dawn can only imagine what it is like to be afraid and unable to perform day-to-day activities without the ability to read.  She wants to be part of the solution; she wants to help people be brave. Dawn believes that passion is a powerful tool to motivate adult learners toward their goal of learning to read.
