As program director, she managed the literacy center and adult education program, and developed and implemented the League’s English Language Literacy Program. Gina served as ALL’s Director of Adult Education from 2008-2015, growing programs for students, securing funding, creating and implementing the agency’s GED lab and supervising training and matching of more than 400 volunteer tutors with eager students while overseeing instruction of more than 2,000 adult learners annually.
In 2011, Solomon was awarded the competitive Martin. L. Bell Scholarship to the Crummer Graduate School of Business, which recognizes one nonprofit professional annually who has demonstrated progressive managerial experience within the nonprofit sector. She served in the 2014 inaugural class of the women’s leadership group ATHENA NextGen.
As chief development officer for ALL from 2015, Solomon’s role was all-encompassing as she provided executive leadership overseeing fundraising, marketing and community outreach. David Odahowski, President and CEO of the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, said Solomon “is a great example of Next Gen leadership in Central Florida’s nonprofit sector. Her experience in the field and her education makes her ‘One to Watch’ in 2019.”
