Martha Beltrán
Board Member, IB Pool Services, LLC
Martha is a proud student and volunteer with the Adult Literacy League, where she dedicates her time and passion for adult education. She co-owns and operates a residential pool maintenance business with her husband. With a background in mechanical engineering, Martha has also pursued postgraduate studies in operations management with many years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, construction, and quality assurance as an internal auditor in various industries, including hospitality. Currently, Martha is working toward her certification as a Certified ADHD Productivity Coach, with a focus on neurodiversity.
In addition to her duties as a board member, Martha also volunteers with the Adult Literacy League as a basic and conversational ESOL instructor. She encourages her students to take risks, learn from their mistakes and feel comfortable with a growth mindset. As a lifelong learner, she believes that learning a second language as an adult requires courage, resilience and the determination to take one step at a time toward mastery.
In line with her Colombian roots, Martha begins each day with a good cup of coffee and, whenever possible, a run to catch the sunrise before diving into her responsibilities as a mother of three and a business owner. Martha discovered her passion for competitive running in her 40s after completing the Chicago Marathon. One of her dreams is to complete the six World Marathon Majors or run 50 races in 50 states—whichever comes first.
