Michael McLaren

Michael McLaren was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Although the Queen’s English was his native language, Michael had dyslexia and functional vision issues which prevented him from learning to read and write.

Michael immigrated to the US in 2013 and has worked hard to become a good citizen. He works two full-time jobs, has acquired citizenship, and is progressing toward full literacy as a student with the Adult Literacy League. In his ‘spare’ time, Michael does carpentry work and takes walks with his cat, Lexie, and his dog, Oliver.
