THOMAS COX

BOARD MEMBER

Dr. Thomas Cox is an Associate Professor in the College of Education and Human Performance at the University of Central Florida with an expertise in adult education as well as ESL. Dr. Cox served as the 2104-2016 President of the Adult Higher Education Alliance, a national organization whose mission is to help remove barriers for adult learners to enter formal higher education. He has been a volunteer for ALL, and is involved in several other community organizations around central Florida.

Adult literacy has always been important to Dr. Cox. Being a first generation college graduate who thrived in a home where his parents had low levels of literacy,he understands how literacy can enhance the quality of lives. ALL has done this for thousands of people through the years and this is why he is excited to become a part of such an impactful organization.
